www.knowledgearchivist.com (the “Site”, “We”, “Us”) is owned and operated by Mackrocosm LLC. Mackrocosm LLC is the data controller and can be contacted at info@knowledgearchivist.com. This Privacy Policy governs our data collection, processing and usage practices. It is designed to allow the Data Subject (“you”) to make an informed choice regarding the use, access and correction of your Personal Information. By accessing or using the Site, you agree that you have read and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please do not use the Site.  

Purpose  — The purpose of this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is to inform users of our Site of the following:  

  1. The personal data we will collect and hold;  
  2. How we collect and hold it;  
  3. Use of collected data;  
  4. How we secure your data;  
  5. Who has access to the data collected;  
  6. The rights of Site users;  
  7. The Site’s cookie policy; and

This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site.  

GDPR  — For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European  Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection  Regulation (the “GDPR”). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018. 

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR.  

We use the information we collect only in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will never sell your Personal Information to any third party without your explicit consent  

Consent — By using the Website and/ or by providing your information, you consent to the collection and use of the information you disclose on the Website in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including but not limited to Your consent for sharing your information as per this privacy policy.  

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.  When the legal basis for us processing your personal data is that you have provided your consent to that processing, you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, it will not make processing which we completed before you withdraw your consent unlawful. Legal Basis for Processing  — We collect and process personal data about users in the EU only when we have a legal basis for doing so under Article 6 of the GDPR. 

We rely on the following legal bases to collect and process the personal data of users in the EU:

  1. Users have provided their consent to the processing of their data for one or more  specific purposes; and  
  2. Processing of user personal data is necessary for us or a third party to pursue a  legitimate interest. Our legitimate interest is not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of users. Our legitimate interest(s) are Processing data to fulfill customer orders and take part in marketing & advertising activities. 

Personal Data We Collect — We may collect your personal information directly from you when you use our services, interact with us, either in person, over the telephone or electronically (e.g. via websites, apps, social media posts, chats, telephone, emails and/or SMS) or as otherwise permitted by law. Information That You Directly Provide To Us  We may also collect the following data when you perform certain functions on our Site  such as when you register on the site or contact us directly:

  2. Location Details When you place an order on the website, we need your billing address,  shipping address, time zone to successfully deliver your order

In order to provide services, we may passively collect your GPS coordinates, where available from your device. Most modern devices such as smartphones will display a permission request when our platform requests this data.

  2. Device Information – Device identifier, device type, device plugins, hardware capabilities and software details.

  4. Log information – Pages or content viewed, clicked links, product you searched or looked at,  time spent viewing, search keywords, etc.

We may also receive information about you from other sources such as when you use third-party services such as Facebook, Google or Twitter to login to the site. 

How We Use Personal Data  Data collected on our Site will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant pages of our Site. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Policy.  We primarily collect, hold and use your personal information for providing you the products and services that you have requested, or which may be of interest to you, so that we may customize your experience on the site.  

We only use your personal information for purposes related to the sale and promotion of our products and services, or for any other purpose within your reasonable expectations or permitted by law.  

Additionally, we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

Who We Share Personal Data With  We are dedicated to maintaining your trust and we endeavor to keep transparency in whom we share your data with.  

  • Employees We may disclose user data to any member of our organization who reasonably needs access to user data to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.  
  • Third Parties  We may share Personal Information with trusted Service Providers or our group companies for payment processing, fulfilling the orders, supplementing the information you provide us in order to provide you with better service, perform statistical analysis, providing marketing assistance, hosting the site and indexing user profile pages and usernames as part of the URL and customer support.  Such third parties are prohibited from using your Personal Information except for these purposes,  and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.  After you place an order on our website you will need to make payment for the services you have ordered.   • Linked Sites: On our website, you may encounter links to third-party websites. These links may be from us, or they may appear as content generated by other users. These linked sites are not under our control and thus we are not responsible for their actions. How Long We Store Personal Data  User data will be stored until the purpose for which the data was collected is achieved or as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, maintain accurate financial and other records,  resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.  You will be notified if your data is kept for longer than this period.  

How We Protect Your Personal Data  In order to protect your security, we use browser encryption software and all data is only accessible to our employees. This process involves the conversion of information or data into a code to prevent unauthorised access. Our employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and a  breach of this agreement would result in the employee’s termination. Encryption methods such as  SSL are utilised to protect customer data when in transit to and from this Site over a secure communications channel.  

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore, we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

Children  We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 18 years of age. If we receive a DNT signal that indicates a user does not wish to be tracked, we will not track that user. We are not responsible for and cannot guarantee how any third parties who interact with our Site and your data will respond to DNT signals.
