Peter the Great was born on June 9, 1672 in Moscow, Russia, and died on February 8, 1725, in St. Petersburg, Russia. Peter the Great was a Russian monarch who ruled over the Tsardom of Russia for 4 decades (the first half of that time he jointly ruled with his brother). He practically pulled Russia out of the Medieval ages and helped Russia find its place on Europe’s stage of power.
