PROFILE OVERVIEW

Genghis Khan was born c. 116,2 and died August 25, 1227. Khan was the pioneering leader and inaugural khagan of the Mongol Empire, which went on to become the most expansive contiguous land empire ever recorded. Through his tireless efforts in unifying the Mongol tribes, he orchestrated a series of military conquests that resulted in the subjugation of substantial territories in China and Central Asia.
