Alexander von Humboldt was born on September 14, 1769 in Berlin, Germany and died on May 6, 1859 in Berlin, Germany. Humboldt was a German polymath. He focused on subjects such as geography, biology, ecology, and he was a tremendous explorer. He played an extremely vital role in developing what we call “Nature” today. He helped us understand that Nature is a tree of life and that everything is connected.
