SPARTACUS

PROFILE OVERVIEW

Spartacus was born c. 103 and died in 71 BC Italy. Spartacus was a Thracian gladiator who, in collaboration with other escaped slaves such as Crixus, Gannicus, Castus, and Oenomaus, led a monumental rebellion against the Roman Republic, known as the Third Servile War. Though our knowledge about him is limited and occasionally conflicts in historical narratives, it is unanimously agreed that he was not only an ex-gladiator but also a skilled military commander.
